Stackable washer/dryer for short momma???

March 6th, 2012 at 05:01 pm

So my husband and I are thinking about getting stackable washer/dryer for our mudroom addition. Problem is if we keep the same footprint of our existing patio, once we add the half bath we probably won't have enough room to keep the washer/dryer side by side.

Anyone have theirs stacked? I am only 5' tall so I'm wondering how much of a hassle this is going to be. I can always get a fold away step stool. I'll need to see if I can reach at my next Home Depot visit.

I'm 5' tall also, but I have front loaders. I think that depending on the size of the set it may pose a problem especially when putting wet clothes in the dryer.

A step stool is the answer. We had a stacking set for a while. Washer was on the bottom, dryer on top. I would *tower* over you, as I'm 5'3"... but I used a step stool and it worked fine!

We had a stackable set for a while, and my wife is 5'-2", but she still used a stepstool as insurance to get those last socks out of the dryer. Wink Just be sure that you get a good, solid, wide-based step stool, or it can lead to tipping problems.
