I'm pregnant!

Yep yep, that's right, I'm pregnant Smile. I guess the saying isn't true..What happens in Vegas doesn't stay in Vegas! It seems that last months visit made a baby and I'm pretty darn thrilled!

On Wednesday I decided to take a home pregnancy test like I've been doing a zillion times at the end of the month for the past half a year or so. I was waiting for the results on Wednesday night when I decided to just start a shower in the meantime. I hopped out of the shower to check, thinking "Of course it'll be negative AGAIN" but instead it came back positive! So then I took another 1 that night and 2 the next day and they were all positive! The gynecologist decided to do another urine test instead of a blood test since they said that wasn't necessary and they confirmed it on my appointment the following day. SO happy I didn't make the massive payment to my car loan. I was just getting ready to put 7,000 on it the other day but there was something telling me to just hold off for the time being. Now we'll use that as savings for me to stay home with the baby for 6 months. I figure if we save 10,000 that'll be enough for all bills and 3,000 in emergencies. One of my co-workers said that I might be able to work a day or two a week and extend that 6 months leave out to like 8 months. I'll have to talk it over with my human resources. Whatever we end up deciding, I can honestly say I've never been so excited in my life to spend money!

    Funny. My first test I thought was negative, and I only took it because my mom and hubby insisted I was pregnant. I was so tired, but I'd been really busy, so I didn't think anything of it. I did the test, it was negative (one line, not two) and then I vacuumed the living room, went back and looked again and it was positive. I almost passed out. And that's how we found out about the bean... The funny thing is I bought a 2 pack because I was so convinced it would be negative, I thought I'd have an extra on hand for when I was really pregnant. Funny. The second test turned out to be positive for Baby Squiddy..

    When you been hoping for a baby and you find out your pregnant its a high and excitement like no other. Congrats! As you tell family, friends and co-workers put out the word for things you might want or need. There was a bassinett that a group of friends each used for each of our newborns. Instead of it feeling like a piece of used furniture it was like a shared experience and feeling, a bonding of sorts that we and all of our children shared. I hope it will still be available for grandchildren.

    Congratulations! Your story leads me to remember when my wife was expecting our first child... she must have gone through five or six tests, thinking that they were wrong. =) We are saving up money, too, because we are having this baby overseas and our US insurance doesn't apply. Fortunately, it is significantly cheaper over here... have a great pregnancy!
