No baby/pregnancy glow..

March 30th, 2010 at 06:32 pm

More money to savings/baby fund but none extra to debt. For the time being I'm holding off on putting any additional towards the car. Lately I've been stressing about baby. When we were planning for a kid it things all seemed to fit into place really well. Now that it's a reality in only 6.5 months I'm starting to stress a bit. I'm not sure how I'm going to coordinate with my mother as far as daycare is concerned. My parents are in debt up to their eyeballs and she can't afford to stop her part-time job. Previously we thought she could take the baby with her to her job (it's before/after child care) but there's rules that won't allow that if you are not the primary guardian of the child. So now we're a bit stuck. I'm just a bit bummed lately. I was expecting the pregnancy "glow" but there's hasn't been too much of it lately. And now I've gotta get back to work...more later.

I think pregnancy glow is for the benefit of others. Maybe so your tribe didn't ditch you in ancient times. LOL. I am totally serious though.

I don't remember my pregnancies being a fun time. I Was wicked sick (throwing up every day for at least half of it), exhausted, and my dh got laid off, etc., etc.

BUT, I recently noticed when I go back and look at pictures, that I look darn good pregnant. I kept picking "pregnant" head shots for Facebook - I kid you not. The best one was before I knew I was pregnant. I obviously didn't see it then, and it boggles the mind how someone can feel to crappy but look so darn glow-y.

Anyway, hang in there. The middle trimester is easier on the body and mood, generally. Hopefully you will have some time to clear your head and come up with a backup plan.

Well, I guess it wouldn't hurt to start calling workday babysitters this early so maybe you can find someone who is really good and trusty. Shame Gramma can't do it, after all....No one ever told me I had a pregnancy glow. The only observation I remember anyone sharing was that I waddled. Frown Great....Might be interesting to go back and look at photos, but there are none....Take pictures, guppy!

We just went through a month without a "glow" ourselves, but things improved and it lead to my wife doing a lot better now. I think that there are really tough times during pregnancy, and when there are external problems it can be exacerbated. Hang in there, keep trying, and I think you will have some insurance that things work out...
