Ack - Where'd my weekend money go?!

October 4th, 2010 at 04:27 pm

This weekend was super spendy for us. After two weekends where we barely went out and were super frugal, we totally blew it this last one. T and I celebrated our anniversary at this exclusive steakhouse near our house and it was AMAZING. Bill for the amazing meal ended up being $166 with tip! :0! We never ever ever spend money like this on eating out, but I wanted to splurge since we didnt have any other anniversary plans (staying over someplace or going to a broadway show just didn't seem enticing when I'm as super big and pregnant as I am now.) We bought each other frugal gifts ( less than 20 each) but then by the end of the weekend we decided to treat ourselves yet again and do a joint annivesary gift of a Keurig single serve coffee maker. I was able to find it cheapest brand new on ebay for $72 which was pretty good. But between the expensive anniversary dinner, the gifts, and the new rotors T had to buy, it ended up being a super expensive weekend. Good thing we had a little bit of a buffer from the last two weekends being cheap ones. I'm going to try and cut back on groceries this week too and make up for some of it there. I'll keep you posted!

DH and I have been married 32 years and have never spent that much on a meal. It makes me cringe just to think about it.

I saw a book at Joann's yesterday that was all onesie designs to make. They were pretty cute. I thought about you.

All right now, get on that making up for that expensive meal!!

PS Right after I posted that, DH called to ask if I wanted to go to dinner before my cake decorating class. HAHA.

Home - Yah, the meal was fabulous but I must admit that when the check came I almost choked a bit on my chocolate lava cake! :P That was even with using a $25 gift certificate we had gotten from restaurant.com!! Not doing that again for quite some time!! I'll have to check out Joann's about that onesie book. Right now onesie's have been on hold until we get everything done for baby's arrival. I figure once she's here maybe she can be my model for all the photos with the onesies! Smile

We went to a Mexican place and I had prawn quesadilla with mango salsa. Divine.... total bill for the 4 of us (my daughter and granddaughter, but okay she ate half of my daughter's)...... $40.00 and that included the generous tip!! Okay you didn't mention chocolate lava cake.... it all makes sense now! HAHA

My buddy took me out for dinner one night in Boston, and when I saw the check it almost made me weep... and I wasn't the one paying for it! Granted, it was probably one of the best meals I ever ate, but I haven't been back. I don't have any insurance that my checking account could handle it at this point!
